The new Arcus E is a two-seater high performance sailplane with 20 m (65.6 ft) wingspan and flaps. The aircraft is developed and produced by Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH. Lange Aviation will, as a part of a cooperation-agreement between Lange Aviation GmbH and Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH, equip a self-launching version of the Arcus with an electric propulsion system. This model is named Arcus E. The propulsion system is based upon the proven propulsion of the Antares 20E
